Six Sentence Story | Chaos #3 | Life

This week, I also wrote a bit about my life. The prompt word and the weekly Six Sentence Story blog hop are hosted by Denise. You can hop in or read all the other entries through the link-up. Six Sentence Story | Chaos #3 After reading Misky's addition to the world of the Café this week, I was 99 percent sure I would write my reply from the POV of the Nervous Poet—I think we are having one heck of a heist soon… However, my last week's procrastination has bitten me in the arse, and I have spent the whole week doing both weeks' assignments—I mean, last week I only did the ones that had a deadline by last Sunday—I mean, I know I can do a lot in one day, but, that was not very smart of me… I was also super-dooper sure that I would make it to one test today (optional), but somehow time went...

dVerse PROSERY #2 |Through the Water

This one was written for the dVerse Prosery prompt. The Line we had to use was: " . . . and the iridescent image swims through a mirror that flows.” by Stanley Kunitz (The Atlantic, 1970) and I used the whole 144 words limit. All the other entries can be accessed through the link-up. Through the Water You told him that I was too loud, that you needed time off, that you felt overwhelmed. I felt the frustration as you held me close, crying because I didn't yet have the words to say: "Mummy, my stomach hurts." Rocking me back and forth, your own tears glimmering in the light, you were repeating, "Please stop crying," and then you filled the bath—like you always do when Mummy needs to relax. I tasted the rosemary-scented oil as you pushed me under, smiling as the room got quiet. But it's...

Ten Thing of Thankful #23 | Our Car and Laptops

Ten Thing of Thankful #23 First - Six Sentence Crowd As always, I can't imagine my life without those people whose blogs I have now regularly begun to read and who I interact with on a weekly basis. There are two things that I love about it: It gives you an idea to write. The community keeps you going. Second - Ten Things of Thankful Even if I am super busy today because I procrastinated the whole weekend, it is one of my favorite things to write, as it makes me see that there are absolutely things to be grateful for. Please do check out all the other entries at the link-up or participate yourself too. Third - Our baby is home Our BMW has a weird effect on one if one drives it in DS mode...

Short Story | Absence

Short Story | Absence I haven't been able to write for so long that it feels as though the ability has been stolen from me. Any words I manage to put down feel dull and meaningless—especially compared to you, or the kind of love and admiration that has been, is, and always will be within me. I have carried it with pride, deep within my heart, shielded from the harsh realities of this world. Sometimes it feels like the purest thing I’ve ever known; other times, it feels as though I’ve sold my soul to this love, just to feel anything at all. Believe me, in the darkest times of my youth, it was the light I clung to. It was the hope that, at the end of the line, you would be there—waiting for me, arms wide open, welcoming me into the light with your embrace. "Actions speak louder than...

Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #19 | Acceptance

Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft — where I write more poetry inspired by my old poetry. Poetry is weird, this piece I actually read many times and thought that wow, it's like from a 19th century play or something. (Authors Note) Acceptance But mother, Can you not see He makes my heart sing My fingers dancing on the keys of an old Dusty Pianoforte, Out of tune And I keep hitting the wrong notes But my heart hums And perhaps, I am A Jester of love But love I do Poetry on the Margins #19 I do To love is courageous, and to admit it even more so. To feel —there's something humanly imperfect, and yetbeautiful, in it. And to think that we don't choosewho we love —love...

Poetry On the margins of the Second Draft #2 | Fragmented Poetry

I have wanted to do this for a while—try something like hybrid writing and mix poetry with reflections on the process itself. Sometimes it’s strange, as my mind tends to get inspired by lines from my old work, and then I write something new. The last Margins came to life in the same way. I read an old poem and then got the idea to add to it. While the emotions in my poetry may sometimes come from real things in life, I have this unusual process of abstraction and a very overactive imagination, which makes even my reflections a product of it. Fragmentation of the mind This is not poetry—this is the mess around it… a girl trying to write, getting distracted by her own thoughts… staring at the...

the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #15 | the Journal

In my last SSC&B entry, I may have shown just a little too much excitement about Misky stepping into the storyverse of the Six Sentence Café & Bistro… Then, in her Six last week, she picked up the thread and responded in a way that made me go "aaaaaaaaa" in...

Ten Thing of Thankful #21 | Tech & Visiting Family

I almost forgot to write my weekly Ten Grats'… Such a shame… but honestly, I have been doing so much that I actually don't even know what to write about anymore… Anyway, you can find all the other participants at the link-up… or choose to participate… Ten Thing of...

a POEM IN SIX #4 | Prompt Word: FOIL

I am not super happy about how this one turned out myself, but I am super happy that I did create something. I just yesterday watched some reels of cats jumping on counters that were covered with foil… so the inspiration came from there... The prompts for the weekly...

Six Sentence Story | Chaos #2 | Life as a Student

Basically, this part of my Sixes probably won't connect with many people, but it is something I thought would be fun to read back once I have graduated… so this is the other side of me that perhaps isn't very often seen or known by those who read my poetry or creative...
