This one was written for the dVerse Prosery prompt. The Line we had to use was: " . . . and the iridescent image swims through a mirror that flows.” by Stanley Kunitz (The Atlantic, 1970) and I used the whole 144 words limit.

Through the Water
You told him that I was too loud, that you needed time off, that you felt overwhelmed. I felt the frustration as you held me close, crying because I didn't yet have the words to say: "Mummy, my stomach hurts."
Rocking me back and forth, your own tears glimmering in the light, you were repeating, "Please stop crying," and then you filled the bath—like you always do when Mummy needs to relax.
I tasted the rosemary-scented oil as you pushed me under, smiling as the room got quiet.
But it's okay. Mummy is right here beside me; the embrace of the water feels warm, the lights keep flickering, Mummy's tears have dried, and the iridescent image swims through a mirror that flows…
as a strand of hair falls on her face while she gazes into it.
"Mummy, what, or who, do you see?"
