And this week I learned that even if I try to write prose, it doesn’t resemble conventional prose. Eugh. But the dVerse Prosery prompt gave me an idea, so I just went with the creative flow… thanks dVerse… for giving me the juices on this rainy day. This is another piece in the ‘Dead Poet’ “series” or something. It’s a short story inspired by the the six-sentence story of the same name that written for a prompt. In it, the protagonist falls deeply in love with a person through their poetry, only to remain alone for a lifetime. I have wanted to do this for a while—try something like hybrid writing and mix poetry with reflections on the process itself. Sometimes it’s strange, as my mind tends to get inspired by lines from my old work, and then I write something new. The last Margins came to life in the same way.
