Ten Thing of Thankful #23
First - Six Sentence Crowd
As always, I can't imagine my life without those people whose blogs I have now regularly begun to read and who I interact with on a weekly basis. There are two things that I love about it:
- It gives you an idea to write.
- The community keeps you going.
Second - Ten Things of Thankful
Even if I am super busy today because I procrastinated the whole weekend, it is one of my favorite things to write, as it makes me see that there are absolutely things to be grateful for. Please do check out all the other entries at the link-up or participate yourself too.
Third - Our baby is home
Our BMW has a weird effect on one if one drives it in DS mode or Manual… one loses a braincell every time it redlines and then shifts a gear…
It sounds sublime and you will be stuck in the seat… feels nice.
Fourth - Me and my Boyfriend went on a drive
We drove around for two hours yesterday because, even if I bought the car in December of 2024, he got his licence this summer, so we have driven it minimally.
We were like two little happy kids when my momma brought the car home to us (she took the Mercedes instead). I mean… I legit ran to it and gave it a hug.
Fifth - One of us can legally drive now
We dreamt of this for 10+ years and finally it is here. Now I need to finish my exams too…
I finished driving school 12–13 years ago and life happened, and I still haven't gotten my exams for the licence itself… though I used to drive daily. My mum was my teacher and I lived at home, so I was not in a hurry. Then some stuff happened and somehow I have still not taken the last two exams.
I will try to finish it in the summer, as I feel super jealous of my boyfriend now lol… also we wanna go on a very long road trip and we would like to go together so that if one gets tired, another can take over.
And the type of a job I dream of would need it too…
Sixth - We got a really good deal on a laptop for my brother
GTA 6 is coming to consoles soon and currently many people want to exchange their gaming laptops… this one had been up for a while and was actually basically unused, in the original packaging, with warranty and the original invoice, for 850 EUR. He actually wanted a PS5 Pro but he finally was fine with the starters price…
- Intel Core i7-13620H
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060
- 16 GB DDR5 RAM — currently 1×16 GB, 2 SO-DIMM slots
- 512 GB NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD that I upgraded
- 144 Hz display
Well, I spent half a day yesterday getting my brother's laptop a bigger NVMe and setting it up on Windows 11…
Linux is super simple in that way. I don't know why, but I always run into one or two weird things with Windows… especially with VMD and Windows updates on 11…
But I am thankful that I have had more than a few Windows laptops this year to set up because I feel a bit rusty. I used to do it often and now I keep forgetting some simple quirks, and Windows is still the most widely used OS on gaming rigs… So I can't afford to go rusty just because I quit servicing during school…
Seventh - Had time to read
I read everyone's posts and even commented, but am not sure if I am going to spam folders…
A few dVerse posts had a request to please link to the exact post that I contributed with, so I tried it out (thinking perhaps it is easier for them to find it then), but I dunno… seems like too much work when on half of them you can log in anyway…
Eighth - Music
I put it on pause as I was doing my Ansible course, but I was listening to this: Rubbish Heap by Dir en grey.
Ninth - Buffer
It is a social media scheduler.
Tenth - Pinterest
Apparently it brings people to my site, and straight-from-site pins work better than carefully done graphics.
Weird thing.
