Six Sentence Story | Chaos #3 | Life

This week, I also wrote a bit about my life. The prompt word and the weekly Six Sentence Story blog hop are hosted by Denise. You can hop in or read all the other entries through the link-up. Six Sentence Story | Chaos #3 After reading Misky's addition to the world of the Café this week, I was 99 percent sure I would write my reply from the POV of the Nervous Poet—I think we are having one heck of a heist soon… However, my last week's procrastination has bitten me in the arse, and I have spent the whole week doing both weeks' assignments—I mean, last week I only did the ones that had a deadline by last Sunday—I mean, I know I can do a lot in one day, but, that was not very smart of me… I was also super-dooper sure that I would make it to one test today (optional), but somehow time went...

a POEM IN SIX #3 | Prompt Word: FIRE | Linked to dVerse OLN

This week I came up with a prose/poem thingie for the six-sentence story hop. The weekly prompt words—this week it's FIRE—are provided by Denise. You can access all the entries and sixers of the week at the link-up. I have also linked it up at the dVerse Open Link Night, where you can find many super talented poets... You can check out their entries at the link-up. FIRE I think I have encountered some burns in my life... At the age of ten, I lit a match—it blew up in my face—and I smelt the flame erase my eyebrows, but it didn't stop me from smoking. Tried to flip a pancake with my fingersand I didn't feel a thing until the skin had melted—three and twenty years later—I still enjoy flipping them on a Sunday morning. Chugged whiskey from the bottle at the age of twelveas the boys cheered...

Ten Thing of Thankful #24 | Writing Communities, School and a BMW

Another list of grats'! I do love this practice of finding things in one's life worth mentioning and sharing them on your blog with the community. It's healing in a way. I'll put the links to this week's community posts in the grats themselves so you can check them out if any of them seem interesting. Ten Thing of Thankful #24 First – Six Sentence Community I may not be reading and commenting as quickly as usual at the moment, which I've already mentioned and apologised for, but I will catch up whenever I have time. I've also been sharing little glimpses into my life lately rather than focusing solely on my creative work, as some weeks I simply don't have the time to cook up a new story...

Short Story | The Silence Between Us

This is another piece in the ‘Dead Poet’ "series" or something. It's a short story inspired by the the six-sentence story of the same name that written for a prompt. In it, the protagonist falls deeply in love with a person through their poetry, only to remain alone for a lifetime. I hope I’ve captured the feeling of being in love with something unattainable well enough. Short Story | The Silence Between Us I feel like I have nothing left to write these days. Instead of creating, I’ve been sitting on my bed in a vegetative state, guilt accumulating with every sip of wine I take. I know I should be writing—or doing something, anything. Sometimes, I catch myself simply waiting for nightfall, just so I can curl up and pretend to sleep, though occasionally, I find myself fantasizing instead....

Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #18 | Digging her own Grave

Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft — this was actually a newer thought or poem that incorporated into this one. I remember the line originated from the Dead Poet thing I had going on and it was supposed to be a part of the Six-Sentence Story but I couldn't connect the thought well enough. (Authors Note) Digging her own Grave " Yes, writing poems about him... was a luxury... I couldn’t afford" Poetry on the Margins #18 I wish Sometimes I wish my writing was more of apunch to the gut, because I amviolent like that. Yet, I feel it's always eithertoo sador too mushy

Poetry On the margins of the Second Draft #1 | Existential Crisis

I haven’t been actively posting poetry or anything for a while—partly because of time, but mostly because I haven’t been getting along with my imagination lately. Too many of my poems were directed at people in my life, and I felt it was better to stay quiet on the blog, as that kind of writing can be disruptive. I had some past traumas I was healing from, and being a poet can sometimes leave you vulnerable if the work is too honest. I truly felt it was too honest to share—unlike the rest of my blog—and that it could have hurt people in my circle. But I feel like I’ve found that spark again, creating from a place that makes my stories feel as if they are deeply personal while still being...

Ten Thing of Thankful #21 | Tech & Visiting Family

I almost forgot to write my weekly Ten Grats'… Such a shame… but honestly, I have been doing so much that I actually don't even know what to write about anymore… Anyway, you can find all the other participants at the link-up… or choose to participate… Ten Thing of...

a POEM IN SIX #4 | Prompt Word: FOIL

I am not super happy about how this one turned out myself, but I am super happy that I did create something. I just yesterday watched some reels of cats jumping on counters that were covered with foil… so the inspiration came from there... The prompts for the weekly...

Six Sentence Story | Chaos #2 | Life as a Student

Basically, this part of my Sixes probably won't connect with many people, but it is something I thought would be fun to read back once I have graduated… so this is the other side of me that perhaps isn't very often seen or known by those who read my poetry or creative...

Ten Thing of Thankful #20 | the Car & Time for Self

Time seems to pass by crazy fast ever since university began again, but that doesn't mean I don't have things outside of it to be thankful for… I did try to get out of my school-mind for this week's entry and also a bit this weekend. All the entries for this blog hop...
