Six Sentence Story #26 | Prompt Word: STOP

I left this week’s entry for the Sixes until the last minute because I have so much going on with my studies and personal life combined that what came out was more of a stream of thoughts laid out like they appear in my drafts, rather than a heavily thought-out story where I strip it down and replace words and paragraphs or turn it into a poem or whatever... today is also the only day I can write and edit unfortunately... But I liked it this way, so... it is coming up... The weekly prompt is provided by Denise and you can read all the entries at the link-up. Six Sentence Story #26 They never teach one, when it is time to retreat from the moving clock, the wisdom only comes when you have no more light to give—like a wick of a candle, burnt down to its core—one must make time for...

a POEM IN SIX #2 | Prompt Word: YARN | Linked to dVerse OLN

Какая ночь! Я не могу and Не гляди на меня с упрёком: These songs were playing on repeat as I wrote this poem. I used to write like this quite often—from an emotion or thought evoked by a song—and I wanted to see if I could still do it. So the poem is largely inspired by the original poems, used as lyrics here, but from the perspective of a woman. PS: I've always admired how direct and emotionally unflinching Sergey Yesenin's poetry is. It's all the more haunting knowing that he died not long after writing these... or how the end of his life played out... or how he wrote his last poem... truly... overwhelmingly tragic. Also, Denise gives us the prompt words and hosts the Six Sentence Story hops weekly... all the six-sentence entries of this week can be found at this link-up. I also...

Short Story | Absence

Short Story | Absence I haven't been able to write for so long that it feels as though the ability has been stolen from me. Any words I manage to put down feel dull and meaningless—especially compared to you, or the kind of love and admiration that has been, is, and always will be within me. I have carried it with pride, deep within my heart, shielded from the harsh realities of this world. Sometimes it feels like the purest thing I’ve ever known; other times, it feels as though I’ve sold my soul to this love, just to feel anything at all. Believe me, in the darkest times of my youth, it was the light I clung to. It was the hope that, at the end of the line, you would be there—waiting for me, arms wide open, welcoming me into the light with your embrace. "Actions speak louder than...

Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #17 | Realization

Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft — what the hell is this even and where did it come from. I like the poem itself. I sure did have a theatrical way to convey love... Love is not that bad at all... or sad... (Authors Note) Realization And so I have been doomed, to walk this earth Without my love by my side, Cursed to live And write letters unheard Poetry on the Margins #17 Melodramatically laid, on display About the painting —I think one tit should show. And maybe,a bitof an ankle? (referring to the last poem)
