Hello everyone! First of all... to those who have noticed a type of a self-made and not highly* promoted schedule here... am sorry.... This weeks Ten Thing of Thankful entry made it to the beginning of a new week because I was not alone, had a lot of cleaning-up to do and honestly, I was way too tired and overwhelmed yesterday evening to do anything besides just exist. All the other TToT's and a way to perhaps participate yourself can be found at the link-up.
Ten Thing of Thankful #11
First — the TToT blog hop itself.
I feel like a broken record player saying this, but this blog hop has become one of my favorites...
There is something healing about showing your gratitude weekly and trying to find the ten things good enough in life to make it onto the list, even when life is busy and I have trouble writing currently due to it never being silent enough at home at the moment... Plus... reading all the other participating authors... whose stories I read all the time... it creates this weird level of friendship or understanding... you can't find in real life...
Second — the six sentence crowd, of course.
Because of the inspiration given to us every week by girlieontheedge in the shape of a prompt word and a link-up.
A non-writing writer, in my case, is a candidate for the nuthouse. I have been blessed with an imagination that won't let me sleep, and now I have also been blessed with the coolest ever circle of writers and authors to binge read, and a new form to write in, which I think has taught me a lot.
Third — Music.
I still cannot make a list without it. This week I was in the lane of nostalgia, listening to Evanescence, Emilie Autumn, and Deftones, and some Dir en grey, which has been one of those bands I have been listening to since I was 13 (Emilie since I was in high school, and the other two since I was a little kid, pretty much).
Currently Zeal & Ardor is playing, which is like avant-garde mixed with black metal, which is MUSICALLY a soft spot for me. The lyrics may not be for regular people, though... but since I myself once upon a time wanted to be an anthropologist... I listen to a very big variety of music related to very different parts of religion too... including darker music like this and Rotting Christ (another one I have been a huge fan of).
Fourth — Rain.
I love the smell of rain, and there is something... just... so... beautiful... and divine about summer rain. It reminds me of my childhood, running out of our family home barefoot and pretending to take a shower...
Fifth— my home is beginning to resemble a home.
With all the cleaning I have had to do during this construction, and the fact that I'm someone who burns out and gets overwhelmed super easily, I did something different. With every cleanup I tackle one area. Yesterday I got most of my books, CDs, vinyl records, and statuettes placed and the bedroom sorted out... I do have to do a few more things before we can move back in there but...
I also realized I have quite a few of Hemingway's books... and notPoetry, short stories, and writing prompts by of Stardust and the Beasts enough vinyl records, only a few, but... and... not... enough... cats... I finally saw my cat statues! And elephants! AFTER A YEAR IN STORAGE!
Sixth — my muse.
It's maybe a moment to facepalm, but to me it's a weird entity that inspires me to write... Not necessarily one specific human being or something like that, but a collection of my life experiences together with the weird ticks in the middle of the night I get that make me wanna write...
Seventh— being alone at home for a few hours.
I have a weird thing that I'm unable to write when I'm surrounded by people. I need complete solitude to work well. It's a weird thing about me. I don't wanna hear anyone, be spoken to, or be touched... Also why it's rather quiet these past weeks on the blog.
I do have a few poems ready to be published soon, but that's about it...
Eighth — Instagram.
While I claim I don't like social media, I sure do post a lot, but that's because I have found many awesome creators in the authors' and music scenes, and I always over-reblog because it is what I do when I like something... I am like an overly excited little girl when I find a creator I like.
Ninth — the many interests I have.
One thing that I love about myself, that many people find odd, is how deeply and fiercely I can love something. Like a kid... only now I know how to Google... which is a double ended sword because once I see a rabbit hole my curiosity makes me step in it... and umm... be unavailable for days or... or unable to shut up.
Tenth— Computer Games.
Elder Scrolls Online, to be exact. It's one of my favourite worlds out there... the lore is written so well that any MMORPG that has "normal" questing mechanics just doesn't scratch that itch anymore.
***The itch to be in a made-up world with cool races, religions, cultures and... DRAGONS! And i can't believe it but... other people?

There's more of my work:
If you like short stories I have them scooped up into one category (including the six-sentence stories).
The Nervous Poet at the SSC&B can be followed here.
There is also poetry.
More personal entries can be found at the Blog.
There's also the IT studies blog in Estonian and "Chaos in Spring" on YouTube, Spotify and other streaming services.

not for nothin’ but we set the end of the hop at Tuesday quite deliberately… sometimes there’s a relationship (inverse. reverse…obtuse, not sure which) between having a lot of Grat-worthy stuff occur and playing catch-up with the blogifying of said events.
like the structure of your list, things that together often show seamlessly in our daily lifes but individually are very involved.
(Also: the TToT has a thing none of the other Grat blogs do: Hypograts. Yes, you read that correctly! Something bad happens and totally strews you list on the ground, that is a legit Grat. Only proviso is it’s considered proper form to show the ultimate outcome. Mimi is our resident expert in the art of hypogratificationing.
have a stellar week (Marlon Brando in ‘Streetcar Named Desire’)
Thank you and yes, Mimi’s lists are always so darn cool in a way that she somehow manages to find the tiniest little thing to be grateful for even in the most scary things like a totaled car.
And I actually was a bit worried about a few people that seem to have gotten used to me posting on certain days. Luckily the TToT crowd allows a bit of sway :).
I love music but I don’t listen when I am creating however, last two weeks, I had very repetitive work so listening to music helps me focus. Microsoft is discontinuing support for Publisher so I have had to convert a lot of important publications into InDesign. I had to use a tthird party app to do the initial conversion but then set up new font choices and go through changing every text block and heading manually. At least I listened to a lot of music!
I haven’t heard of any of the bands you mentioned despite very broad tastes but I am intrigued to see if we can find any common ground – how about these…

Have a great week Reelika…
Thank you for the comment!
I am weird in a sense that I can’t stand noise but I must have music on because my hearing so stupid that I can hear the fridge, the neighbour tooting and electric appliances and everything and it annoys me so I put on some writing music like Lucas king or such
…
I too have very broad tastes, from pop, Arabic, electronic to different types of metal.
I will check out your suggestions for sure, when it comes to music… Sharing bands is caring.
Oh I love Mitski!!! and Zappa, I just now clicked on the links…
Nice list that sums up how special the ordinary events of life can be. It is a unique feeling being re-united with old stuff. When I don’t have display space to put my statues, I leave them in a storage box too. Now that I have a small space in a bookshelf, I have to start searching for that correct storage box where my small statues are.
