the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #14 | Professional Curiosity

This week's entry to the club of very awesome writers in the blog-hop of the Sixers was a gift from the Gods. Seriously. I was just doing my IT Infrastructure homework/lab. I still have so much to do, but being able to take my mind off it for a while and work with a different region of my brain keeps me focused. The weekly prompt words for the Sixes are provided by Denise, and you can access all the entries at the link-up. the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #14 "Fuck, FUCK, FUUCK!" Aurelia screeched at the top of her lungs as the hot coffee dripped down her legs and all the Post-it notes she had just finished reorganizing by importance. To make the scene even more dramatic, I have decided that while she ran to the kitchen nook to get a rag—in a RUSH—she banged her small toe full force...

a POEM IN SIX #2 | Prompt Word: YARN | Linked to dVerse OLN

Какая ночь! Я не могу and Не гляди на меня с упрёком: These songs were playing on repeat as I wrote this poem. I used to write like this quite often—from an emotion or thought evoked by a song—and I wanted to see if I could still do it. So the poem is largely inspired by the original poems, used as lyrics here, but from the perspective of a woman. PS: I've always admired how direct and emotionally unflinching Sergey Yesenin's poetry is. It's all the more haunting knowing that he died not long after writing these... or how the end of his life played out... or how he wrote his last poem... truly... overwhelmingly tragic. Also, Denise gives us the prompt words and hosts the Six Sentence Story hops weekly... all the six-sentence entries of this week can be found at this link-up. I also...

Ten Thing of Thankful #19 | Our Car & University

the Ten thing of Thankful hop is a cool way to either end or begin a new week. It is a reflection on things to be grateful for and a reminder that little things do matter. Absolutely love this shit. The contributions of many awesome bloggers and writers can be accessed through the link-up. Ten Thing of Thankful #19 First - My other half got his Driving License. WOHOOO, it stalled so much because there were no available exam times in the summer and I was so happy when he called me: "Guess what??" The funny thing is, he had forgotten his exam time and got a reminder on his phone the evening before, and the dude passed! YAY Second - Our car is in body shop but we were left with another. Yup,...

Short Story | Demigods are Worshipped in Wine

This short story delves into the life of a woman who uses poetry, wine, and music as a way to worship a love that never materializes. For quite a long time, my writing was inspired by 19th-century writers and their way of portraying obsessive and unrequited love. If I’m honest, I don’t really like my old stories, because it feels like I was always trying to be something I’m not as a writer. I don’t write compelling plotlines like many of the authors I read in the blog-hop community. However, they were written because I wanted to hone my ability to write plots, which has never been my strongest skill as a poet. Short Story | Demigods are Worshipped in Wine This night was like many others. She was preparing her space to write poetry. It was as if she was preparing to worship a God of a...

Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #17 | Realization

Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft — what the hell is this even and where did it come from. I like the poem itself. I sure did have a theatrical way to convey love... Love is not that bad at all... or sad... (Authors Note) Realization And so I have been doomed, to walk this earth Without my love by my side, Cursed to live And write letters unheard Poetry on the Margins #17 Melodramatically laid, on display About the painting —I think one tit should show. And maybe,a bitof an ankle? (referring to the last poem)
