Another week has passed again, and it’s time for a new six-sentence story. This week I did something a bit different… Even if, in my case, the first person was solely used because the third person took away from the story, I think it is something a lot of us can relate to on some level. The hostess of the blog-hop is GirlieOnTheEdge.
Also this week has been very busy as the semester is ending and we have construction at home too. I skipped the TToT last week and unfortunately will on this week too (very important math test on Monday) but after it I will return.
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
The link is live from Wednesday at 6:00 PM until late Saturday night.
Spread the word and support fellow writers!
PROMPT WORD: PUZZLE
You can find links to other participants’ work through the link-up.
Six-Sentence Story - Pieces of a Mosaic
I have found that people are like incomplete jigsaws; with pieces missing from the whole picture,
parts they either hide or have lost — sometimes even malformed, soiled, or splintered.
And you can never know which of those fragments someone conceals around you, and it may not always be done to deceive or to manipulate.
Sometimes we keep parts of ourselves hidden out of need, habit, or shame;
it may also be that some of us learn to hide inside what is expected of us,
performing the behaviors we were taught to fit in or survive.
As Carl Jung said, “The persona is a complicated system of relations between the individual consciousness and society, fittingly enough a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and, on the other, to conceal the true nature of the individual.”
But I,
I wanted to reconstruct him,
like my favorite mosaic,
and place him in my catalog of lovers
so that I could trace the jagged outlines
with my mouth.
And my crime is that I still long for someone to look at me the same way and think that the puzzle is worth it
despite the jarring arrangement.

There's more of my work:
If you like short stories I have them scooped up into one category (including the six-sentence stories).
Or maybe you prefer poetry,, more personal entries can be found at the Blog.
There's also the IT studies blog in Estonian and "Chaos in Spring" on YouTube, Spotify and other streaming services.

I get the feeling there is a lot more to this story than these six sentences let on….
Yeah, perhaps you are right…
Partly I blame reading psychology based books for the way this six came out and partly
My own desire to attend the world with my own face for once and still be loved or accepted.
I think it’s natural, even if the story is just that, a story.
May we be puzzles worth solving.
Indeed Frank.
Thank you for the comment!
delicious six….. loved how the story opened with each line revealing more of the whole story…
Thank you so much, am glad that you liked it.
yow!*
provocative Six yet, I would hazard, one that many of us (the Readers) can identify with.
Being a puzzle, (to the world around us), is a ‘problem’ that many of wrestle with and. ultimately can accommodate. It is the frustration (real or projected) that we see in those around around us, the ones we’d wish success in their efforts that is the tricky part.
A wise person once said, ‘The world is a feeling, but you alone are responsible for how you feel.”
hey, fun thought-provoking Six!
(not to worry (on the TToT) sounds like the process you’re in the middle of oughta produce a right passel of Grats!)
*a sound-only compliment on your bold Six this week
Thank you so much and I do have a lot on my plate this week so I just can’t fit it in.
Am happy to read your comments always.
Thank you so much.
Gosh, very profound… such a good Six – plus a bit about Carl Jung – thank you for that.
Thanks for the comment and you are welcome ?
I think I now better understand your comment on my FF story.
This is painfully beautiful, or maybe beautifully painful, either way I love it.
Don’t be a stranger.
Yes, I read yours over and over again and a few days later that I sat down to write…
I guess I was affected a bit…
Thanks for the comment!
I can’t tell how you much I love your Six, Reelika. I totally identified with it.
Your “But I”, 5th sentence? As two of the most famous time travelers from 1989 might say, “most excellent!”
…there is no crime and the puzzle is more than worth the effort.
P.S. Good luck on Monday’s math test!
Thank you so much.
And I do hope all goes well next week, luck is much appreciated.
Accordingly to plan I should finish three courses by Friday..
You make some very good points. A great take,
Thank you Keith!
It’s sad how much we have to hide inside what is expected of us.
It is.
And in a way it is normal to be different at work and school or so, and to learn when or what mask to wear is also an art but..
I guess there is that.
Rebellious side of me that just wants to be me. ?
