the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #10 | The Rudeness Continues
I was editing this with Sonia by Mirar blasting in my ears... contrary to popular belief about music as such, it calms my brain and makes me able to think on a few continuous threads instead of a hundred... if it makes sense... I mean.. it helps me structure my naturally chaotic mind... Also, as always, Denise, as the host for the six sentence story hops, provided us with the weekly prompt word—SLIP—and all the other participants' stories can be accessed through the link-up. the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #10 "Five more minutes!" the Nervous Poet yelled at her phone as if it were her mother waking her up for school again—well, you wouldn't be surprised, considering that her creativity had peaked with wine and the obnoxiously loud music drowning out the downstairs neighbours'...
dVerse OLN #2 | Autopsy of Inheritance
This is my second entry for the dVerse Poets Pub Open Link Night. If you enjoy poetry or prose, whether you liked mine or not, you can find many more poems over at dVerse, where they regularly post different prompts and blog-hops, or you can explore the other participants at the OLN link-up. Autopsy of Inheritance To separate you from me,I drove a hatchet straight into this chest of mine, split it open in the shape of a Y —performing an autopsy of inheritance. But as I pulled back the fleshand reached insideto disconnect the veins from the lumpthat forgot how to beat at the mention of your name,I found that you were not in my heart at all. It is in the marrow that you reside. So I sat down at the vanity, holding a bone saw in one hand, yetwhen I take a closer look at myself,I still...
Ten Thing of Thankful #16 |Blogosphere & Writing
It's time to show my weekly grats' again. A blog-hop that is like no other as it's all about finding the good in life and sharing it with the world… it doesn't even have to be very long or elaborate as mine is to raise one's mood... Seriously though, if you don't wanna write your own... then reading all the entries of other participants is already enough to lift the spirits. Ten Thing of Thankful #16 First—Six Sentence Café & Bistro I have already expressed how glad I am to be included in this collaborative world. However, I had serious trouble with coming up with a plot for the story this week and so, I waited until someone else had published theirs and well… I got my inspiration from...
Short Story | Master of Escapism
"Master of Escapism" is a short story about a poet who lives her life in daydreams, preferring fantasy over reality. The story explores mental health, maladaptive daydreaming, and dissociation, where anything but reality offers comfort. In a way, this is probably the most personal story I have ever written for myself. While it’s not entirely autobiographical, it does contain many pieces of me. Short Story | Master of Escapism I used to believe in something, like stars being the souls of the lost—my father being one of them. I also used to read fairy tales over and over again. I believed that I would spend an eternity loving the same boy I fell for when I was nothing but a child. I had my whole life written in fantasy and laid out in front of me. On some days, I fought dragons; on other...
Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #10 | Belladonna
This piece from Margins of the First Draft captures the feeling of being completely undone by someone's presence. I wonder if I ever felt something like that or if it came from watching a certain movie.... (Authors Note) Belladonna Like a maiden in love, With my eyes glistening In the lights above my head, As if he was the belladonna to my pupils I was a deer caught in headlights And he was The definition of poetry Poetry on the Margins #10 Spellbound Have you ever been completely undone by someone's presence? He is like belladonna — the toxin that dilutes pupils —deathly and intoxicating.Oh, my poor little heartstrings. Imagine this:you live your life as a grown-up 21st-century woman —you...

dVerse POETICS #1 | Absence of Colour

dVerse OLN #3 | Web of Interpretation
My third entry to the dVerse Open Link Night for poetry. This piece is perhaps one of the most experimental, visceral, and metaphorically exaggerated poems I've written in a long time. Anyway, as this is a blog hop, I cannot let you begin reading without mentioning...
