Six Sentence Story #25 | Prompt Word: PINCH
For this week's Six Sentence Story—the prompt Denise provides us every week—I wrote a rather sad and dark piece of prose from the point of view of someone forced to care for a loved one struggling with addiction. As the subject may be distressing for some readers, please read with caution, if themes of addiction or its impact on loved ones may be triggering then perhaps try some of my other writings... I will add my other entry of this week to the SSC&B world too... All the participants can be found at the link-up... Six Sentence Story #25 You have lain in your bed since last night, your breath reeking of alcohol and the dried tears on your cheeks mimicking regret—the kind that runs circles around me. I have done what I could by cleaning your bedroom, cooking our dinner, asking you...
dVerse POETICS #1 | Absence of Colour
This poem was written in five minutes because of the prompt on the dVerse Poets site, Get Out Your Crayons and Come Color with Me!. Unusual as usually one poem takes me at least a week to write/edit but the description for white gave me an idea... Thank you! Also, be sure to check out the link-up where many poets share their work and if mine is not it... there surely is an author you will like. Absence of Colour Most people would thinkupon the colour blackwhen describing sadness, but what if the colour of melancholywas white— an absence, void of feeling, numbness. Nothingness can beas nerve-wrackingas the waiting roomof a doctor's office: white walls, fluorescent light, void of feeling, absence of colour.
Ten Thing of Thankful #11 | Home, Music & Creative Inspiration
Hello everyone! First of all... to those who have noticed a type of a self-made and not highly* promoted schedule here... am sorry.... This weeks Ten Thing of Thankful entry made it to the beginning of a new week because I was not alone, had a lot of cleaning-up to do and honestly, I was way too tired and overwhelmed yesterday evening to do anything besides just exist. All the other TToT's and a way to perhaps participate yourself can be found at the link-up. Ten Thing of Thankful #11 First — the TToT blog hop itself. I feel like a broken record player saying this, but this blog hop has become one of my favorites... There is something healing about showing your gratitude weekly and trying...
Short Story | Master of Escapism
"Master of Escapism" is a short story about a poet who lives her life in daydreams, preferring fantasy over reality. The story explores mental health, maladaptive daydreaming, and dissociation, where anything but reality offers comfort. In a way, this is probably the most personal story I have ever written for myself. While it’s not entirely autobiographical, it does contain many pieces of me. Short Story | Master of Escapism I used to believe in something, like stars being the souls of the lost—my father being one of them. I also used to read fairy tales over and over again. I believed that I would spend an eternity loving the same boy I fell for when I was nothing but a child. I had my whole life written in fantasy and laid out in front of me. On some days, I fought dragons; on other...
Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #12 | He Was Cold
Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft—on the contrary, the fact that life goes on is not as sad as I make it seem in the second piece. This poem probably did come from a real feeling, but gosh, was I theatrical. (Authors Note) He Was Cold And there was I Trembling My love was A fierce tempest ravaging my heart Shaken, my world Was set ablaze by his gaze And he was A dead calm sea Poetry on the Margins #12 What is the word? What is it about writers —that they write about their heartbreakas if it killed them and life never moved on,and you never foundthat person who truly, un... ummm... unapologetically?!?!Loved you too? I have been writing about heartbreakas if the earth...

dVerse OLN #3 | Web of Interpretation
My third entry to the dVerse Open Link Night for poetry. This piece is perhaps one of the most experimental, visceral, and metaphorically exaggerated poems I've written in a long time. Anyway, as this is a blog hop, I cannot let you begin reading without mentioning...
the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #1 | the Nervous Poet
For this week's six sentence story, I was honored to be invited to participate in the world of Six Sentence Café & Bistro with my own character. Honestly, such things make me a little nervous, as I have never participated in any type of collaborative writing...
Ten Thing of Thankful #5 | Finding Joy in Doing Nothing
It was quite difficult for me to find anything interesting to write about for this week as it has been very quiet all of a sudden... I am used to drowning under my responsibilities and I just took time off or something. This week's Ten Thing of Thankful felt a bit...
Six Sentence Story #22 | Prompt Word: INTEREST
Yet again, a week has passed and it's time for a new six-sentence story. This week I wrote something a bit different from my usual entries, and it’s also the first week in a while that I have been able to rest. Yay. The blog hop itself is hosted by GirlieOnTheEdge. Be...
Ten Thing of Thankful #4 | Passing Uni Exams & Summer Break
It has been a few weeks since my last Ten Thing of Thankful entry. As some people may already know, I was very busy with university and the exam period, which is why I was absent from this blog-hop for two weeks. Anyway, if you enjoy reading about gratitude and...
