the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #12 | a Freaky One?

This week's storyline for the Nervous Poet was also sourced from the red-headed writer (aka la Raconteuse). The prompt word—FUNCTION—was provided by Denise, aka the Bartender, host of the Six Sentence Story blog hop. All the stories for the week—within the café and outside of it—can be accessed through the link-up. As I was writing this weeks' installment and editing it I was listening to Rotting Christ—one of my favorite bands from Greece. the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #12 Aurelia paced back and forth in her tiny one-room while gripping onto a flyer Denise, aka the Bartender, had handed her with the strength of—umm—well… as if this flyer itself had the might to attack her. "I don't know if I can do this… they called me the poetry freak… even took my notebook and read it in front of...

dVerse POETICS #1 | Absence of Colour

This poem was written in five minutes because of the prompt on the dVerse Poets site, Get Out Your Crayons and Come Color with Me!. Unusual as usually one poem takes me at least a week to write/edit but the description for white gave me an idea... Thank you! Also, be sure to check out the link-up where many poets share their work and if mine is not it... there surely is an author you will like. Absence of Colour Most people would thinkupon the colour blackwhen describing sadness, but what if the colour of melancholywas white— an absence, void of feeling, numbness. Nothingness can beas nerve-wrackingas the waiting roomof a doctor's office: white walls, fluorescent light, void of feeling, absence of colour.

Ten Thing of Thankful #18 | Last Day-off

This is my last Thankful of the summer, so let's see what they will be like starting from next week… I may skip a few if I get very-very busy, but since this hop is so beneficial to my well-being, I will give my best to be a part of it as much as I can. You can join in or read other entries at the link-up. Ten Thing of Thankful #18 First—Live Captions and Translation. Found an add-on for Firefox called CaptionGo—which may still be a bit off at times with certain translations, but is quite good for watching content from creators who do not create it in a language I understand. So, say someone uploads a video in Hindi; this thing creates captions from the speech and then translates those...

Short Story | Melody Behind Her Voice

I tried to write a short story about love and its ties to memory —the little things that linger. It became one of the most difficult of goodbyes to write too. In this short story we follow a man torn between holding on and letting go. I think that this one is actually one of my strongest pieces in this corner of my blog as it sounds more like constructed story with a clear plot and less of a mumble of words. Short Story | Melody Behind Her Voice In this moment, he couldn't understand how the melody in her voice could have disappeared. He sat on the edge of her bed and realized that time, it had been cruel to her. It seemed as if it were just yesterday that they walked hand in hand on the riverbank, her golden locks flying in the wind and the scent of strawberries lingering in the air...

Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #12 | He Was Cold

Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft—on the contrary, the fact that life goes on is not as sad as I make it seem in the second piece. This poem probably did come from a real feeling, but gosh, was I theatrical. (Authors Note) He Was Cold And there was I Trembling My love was A fierce tempest ravaging my heart Shaken, my world Was set ablaze by his gaze And he was A dead calm sea Poetry on the Margins #12 What is the word? What is it about writers —that they write about their heartbreakas if it killed them and life never moved on,and you never foundthat person who truly, un... ummm... unapologetically?!?!Loved you too? I have been writing about heartbreakas if the earth...
