the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #15 | the Journal
In my last SSC&B entry, I may have shown just a little too much excitement about Misky stepping into the storyverse of the Six Sentence Café & Bistro… Then, in her Six last week, she picked up the thread and responded in a way that made me go "aaaaaaaaa" in her comment section. So, naturally, this week I am picking up her thread (the sentence we are working on is from her story). And thus the storyverse where the Nervous Poet meets one of her favorite bloggers continues… The weekly prompts for the sixes themselves are provided by Denise and you can access all the stories at the link-up. the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #15 Aurelia sank into the seat at the Alcove—holding the journal as if it was the most precious thing someone could ever entrust her with—and began enacting the...
dVerse POETICS #2 | I am a Great Lover Too
This was a rather interesting prompt from dVerse Poetics, asking us to write a poem inspired by The Great Lover by Rupert Brooke. As I had already been rather productive in the area of writing today, I thought there were worse ways to end the day than by writing a rather quick poem before diving into editing my other work for Thursday... UGH, editing... You can read all the other wonderful entries by many talented poets at the link-up. I am a Great Lover Too These I have loved: The long walks through chilly nights, the sleeping city, once so busy and loud, now the only sound: my feet hitting the pavement,so peaceful and quiet, smelling of summer. The serenity of befriending my solitude,my greatest companion: me, myself, and I.Got the whole apartment to myself for the day, reading, writing,...
Ten Thing of Thankful #22 | Writing Communities and University
Fifth week of school already… and my 22nd entry to one of the coolest blog hops, which is all about sharing the things you are grateful for. Honestly, last week I didn’t do much besides study and write, so this time my TToT feels a bit bland… You can find all the other participants or choose to participate yourself at the link-up. Ten Thing of Thankful #22 First – Six Sentence Crowd This is one of those blog hops that has kept me writing, and one of the hops I missed the most during my hiatus. Honestly, reading and writing aren't even the best part of it… I love this community so much! Thank you, Denise, for providing the weekly challenge with a prompt word, and the link-up. When I don't...
Short Story | Goddess in Disguise
In this short story, "Goddess in Disguise," Ella loves fiercely and obsessively, pouring herself into every relationship. She worships her lovers, hoping they’ll stay, but learns a new kind of love from a man who doesn’t fall for her usual charms. This story was also written as a journey of discovering another type of writer in me, before this blog and the Six-Sentence Stories I used to write only poetry. I did dabble in horror and romanticism in my teens, but I never really wrote stories. While reading other blog-hoppers’ weekly additions, I felt that my stories didn’t quite fit, because they never had a strong plot and always leaned toward poetry. Now, however, after returning in 2026, I think it’s not a bad thing to be different from other writers. Perhaps that’s why I stopped trying...
Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #16 | Mercy
Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft—while, yes, we have all gone through a heartbreak or two, it’s rarely as theatrical as those 19th-century plays I was a huge fan of back in the day. Life has a tendency to go on. The Victorians were a strange bunch, and I think that during this period I was really drawn to their style of writing. Sometimes, it still shows in my newer work. (Authors Note) Mercy Oh Dear Lord At this state, A knife Straight into this heart of mine Would be an act of mercy Poetry on the Margins #16 Melodrama This poem makes me want to melodramatically lay on my way-too-modern couch, with a bottle of red Zinfandel in one hand and a knife in the other,and...

the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #12 | a Freaky One?
This week's storyline for the Nervous Poet was also sourced from the red-headed writer (aka la Raconteuse). The prompt word—FUNCTION—was provided by Denise, aka the Bartender, host of the Six Sentence Story blog hop. All the stories for the week—within the café and...
dVerse PROSERY #2 |Through the Water
This one was written for the dVerse Prosery prompt. The Line we had to use was: " . . . and the iridescent image swims through a mirror that flows.” by Stanley Kunitz (The Atlantic, 1970) and I used the whole 144 words limit. All the other entries can be accessed...
Ten Thing of Thankful #16 |Blogosphere & Writing
It's time to show my weekly grats' again. A blog-hop that is like no other as it's all about finding the good in life and sharing it with the world… it doesn't even have to be very long or elaborate as mine is to raise one's mood... Seriously though, if you don't...
the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #11 | Is it Tickling or Itching?
As am formatting/editing my this weeks' entry to the sixers pub, I am listening to one of the playlists I created on YouTube Music. Not that it has much to do with the unhinged plot Chris sent me on with her six this week, but I thought I would share it. As always,...
