the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #10 | The Rudeness Continues

I was editing this with Sonia by Mirar blasting in my ears... contrary to popular belief about music as such, it calms my brain and makes me able to think on a few continuous threads instead of a hundred... if it makes sense... I mean.. it helps me structure my naturally chaotic mind... Also, as always, Denise, as the host for the six sentence story hops, provided us with the weekly prompt word—SLIP—and all the other participants' stories can be accessed through the link-up. the Six Sentence Café & Bistro #10 "Five more minutes!" the Nervous Poet yelled at her phone as if it were her mother waking her up for school again—well, you wouldn't be surprised, considering that her creativity had peaked with wine and the obnoxiously loud music drowning out the downstairs neighbours'...

dVerse OLN #5 | My Ars Poetica

I originally wanted to submit this for the last dVerse Poetica submission.... But I was late to the link-up because life got in my way... I still wanted to use this prompt, so I linked it up at the OLN. Entries of all the participants can be found here. My Ars Poetica In the earliest of my writing days,Poetry was a mechanism to ease the solitudeof being the odd pencil in the box:it was a canvas for the bubbling rage of a teenage girltrapped in the corners of her psyche, and a self-centered desire for validation,a "look what they have done to me" ode—now buried in the depths of the internetunder a pen name nobody remembers. But I have been growing alongside my creations, with language aimed at my central lobe, manipulating the syntax to control the daggerwhile concealing my own woundswith...

Ten Thing of Thankful #14 | Music, Community & Behind the Scenes

This week has been very productive for me in the areas of blogging that I usually don't talk about... But also outside of it... Writing down my ten things of grats' has become one of my favorite parts of the week, as it reminds me—someone who is so prone to feeling melancholic—that there is always something to be grateful for... ...by finding those ten things... and by going through what other bloggers have linked up to the hop. Ten Thing of Thankful #14 First—Music. This week, I discovered something completely new to me: a band called Mirar. This type of music—while, yes, it's not for everyone—scratches my brain in all the right places. I've been hooked on it since yesterday, especially...

Short Story | Elves and Fantasy

I wanted to write a short story about how we sometimes fall in love with a stranger—captivated by a simple gesture, a glance, a small, unexpected moment. Elves and Fantasy is a short story born from that feeling, and from the quiet fear that maybe we’re not enough, or that a hello might ruin the magic. But what if that one hello could change everything? Short Story | Elves and Fantasy He sat across from her on the train he took every day to work and back. Never had he seen her before, and there was nothing else that he could do than sit there, staring at her drawing while being perplexed by her beauty. He himself had never drawn before, or maybe he did when he was still in kindergarten and just forgot how much he enjoyed it. Seeing her made him curious. Who was she? Where did she come...

Poetry On the margins of the First Draft #15 | Desperation

Part of my poetry collection, Margins of the First Draft—I know how this poem was written. This one I remember: I was listening to an Egyptian singer, and I was struck by how he conveyed obsessive love. I wanted to borrow that style, because it was so strong and somehow unhinged that I wanted something like it in my own writing. (Authors Note) Desperation What is the worth of my love If I can not paint the city walls With the colour of his eyes Poetry on the Margins #15 The Worth of My Love It's the writer’s ache —to immortalize this feeling of admiration, desperation, longing, ache. Whatever you wanna call it — it is. Otherwise, what was this feeling worth? If I can't create from it,grow...
